Scripture1 Kings 12:8 — Rehoboam rejected seasoned counsel and chose advice that strengthened his own impulse.
Advice is easy to collect when you have already decided what you want to hear. Rehoboam found voices that enlarged his ego, and an entire kingdom paid for the counsel he preferred.
Choose advisers who are free to disappoint you. Wisdom may challenge your pace, expose your motive, or ask you to count a cost your appetite wants ignored. Agreement is not the same as counsel.
Declaration
I choose counsel that serves truth, not ego. God surrounds me with wise voices who are free to correct me.
