Survival demanded everything during the disaster. Then morning came, and another kind of courage was required: deciding what to do with the pieces that remained.
The aftermath can feel quieter and harder because there is no emergency carrying you. Begin gently. Eat, rest, count what remains, ask for help, and take one rebuilding step. Morning does not deny the night; it announces that the night did not own forever.
The disaster did not own forever. God is meeting me in the morning and giving me courage to rebuild with what remains.
