ScriptureRomans 6:16 — Repeated obedience forms allegiance; do not present yourself again to sin as master.
The old life can become familiar enough to feel trustworthy. Even good news is questioned because bondage has trained the mind to expect disappointment and search for the hidden danger.
Notice where your thinking still defends the former master. Present yourself to God in small, repeated acts of trust. Loyalty can be retrained when freedom is practised long enough to become believable.
Declaration
My mind is no longer loyal to the old life. I present myself to God and practise the obedience of freedom.
