Some losses hurt beyond the value of what disappeared. The deepest wound is the face attached to the event: the person you trusted, helped, loved, or never expected to cause it.
Do not judge yourself for processing betrayal differently from an ordinary setback. Bring both losses before God: what was taken and what the person's action made you believe about love, safety, and yourself. The deeper wound deserves truthful care.
God is healing both what I lost and the wound of who caused it. Betrayal will not poison my future relationships.
