Applause can hide motive because it makes almost any work feel meaningful. A better question appears when recognition disappears: what burden, service, or creative work still pulls at you when no one is watching?
Pay attention to what remains. Enduring love for the work does not prove every detail is your assignment, but it can reveal where faithfulness belongs. Work from devotion, not addiction to an audience.
I work wholeheartedly for the Lord. My faithfulness will not rise and fall with applause.
